 About The Trips

Started in 2008 this is a fun and casual group of birders that get together on a wednesday to go birding together in Central Oregon.  The schedule is subject to change dependingon reports of rare birds in the area and check COBOLfor changes to schedule.

Generally the trips are half days unless noted. 

We will meet at 7:00 a.m. at Nancy P’s at 1054 Milwaukee in Bend. We car pool, share expenses for gas, and take turns driving.  Contact Judy Meredith for questions, to verify schedule or to meet the group at the birding location instead of at Nancy Ps. Watch for any changes on COBOL and the ECAS webpage. Schedule is subject to change depending on the weather, reports of exciting birds, etc.

Feb 3 - Sunriver area, half day.  Meet 7:30 Nancy P's, or Sunriver Store off Cottonwood at 8 a.m.

Feb 10 - Haystack Reservoir, half day. Meet 7:30 Nancy P's.

Feb 17 - Prineville area, may want a longer day if we have good weather.
Meet to car pool at 7:30 Nancy P's or 8:00 Powell Butte School.

Feb 24 - Hatfield Ponds. 7:30 Nancy P's. or at the gate to
Hatfield at 8 a.m.

March 3 - No local birding planned

March 10 - No local birding planned

March 17 - Redmond Sewage Ponds. Meet at Nancy P's at 7:30am

March 24 - Early start today for desert birds. More details TBA

March 31- Birding by ear with Dave Tracy. Meet at Sawyer Park at 7:30am

April 7 - First Street Rapids, Shevlin Park, Tumalo Reservoir. Car pool
from Nancy P's at 7:30 or meet at 1st street parking area.

April 14 - Sisters area, higher elevations, look for grouse and woodpeckers.
Car pool Nancy P at 7:30 and  from Sisters Village Greens parking area at
8:00.

April 21 - Smith Rocks and Lower Bridge area. Car pool from Nancy
P's 7:30, Redmond Starbucks at 8:15.
