Chuck is a Central Oregon native, growing up in the small town of Culver.
He went to college at Southern Oregon State University and graduated in 1983
with a degree in Biology Education. He taught in Culver for 5 years before
moving to Crook County High School in Prineville where he currently works.
He has been married to his wife Dorothy since 1993 and currently resides in
Powell Butte.
Chuck began birding after college. He has been a board member of the
Oregon Field Ornithologists and has been a field notes editor for Oregon
Birds Magazine for several years. He is a founding member of the ECBC being
involved with its genesis in early 2002. He is currently a second term
board member and the President of the ECBC.
Chuck enjoys bird photography and county listing. He spends most of his
time birding in Crook County and has amassed a county list of 263 species.
He enjoys traveling to exotic locations in search of birds. Much of his
time is spent being involved in various ECBC projects and this gives him
much joy.
